As part of the urban redevelopment project, prominent areas in the growing district of Huckelriede in Bremen are to be upgraded, and urban planning abuses eliminated. One problem area is the triangle between Kornstrasse, Niedersachsendamm and the public transport interchange. This rather inhospitable transit point is to be developed into a lively centre for the district. The townscape at this location is characterised by a heterogeneous mixture of higher and lower houses with garage character and many gaps between buildings.
The urban development concept is aimed at creating a coherent urban appearance here. Buildings that are typical of the townscape, including some remaining historical buildings from the Wilhelminian period, are to be preserved and renovated. Inner courtyards offer potential for gentle densification.
