The ‘Camper Höhe’ secondary intermediate school in Höhe is being restructured as an all-day school. The new foyer on the east side of the F wing serves as a side entrance to the school building from the parade yard and as an entrance to the F wing and the future canteen.
The school’s canteen is designed for around 500 meals a day in two shifts using the ‘cook&chill’ catering system. A 520 sqm dining hall and a kitchen wing, including around 290 sqm in storage and technical facility rooms and sanitary facilities for the staff are in planning.
The buildings are arranged with the town’s axes in mind and are integrated into their surroundings, while at the same time lending them a distinctive character on the site The structure of the new buildings also acts as a frame for the yard in the southeast corner and defines clear-cut edges.
The canteen roof will be extensively greened to retain and store rainwater. Native plant species provide an ecological niche for insects.
